Have You Forgiven Yourself?
TODAY’S READING: PSALM 102-104
What a wonderful picture of forgiveness! When we seek God and ask Him to remove our sin, He does so. He will remember it never again! This should fill our life with hope and joy. However, there are many Christians who understand God has forgiven them, but they have yet to forgive themselves. When God forgives us, we must forgive ourselves. Beating up oneself must certainly cease. Our debt has been cancelled. We must not continue to live in fear. What God promises to do, He will do. We need to move forward in humble faith, realizing our dependence upon God. We must allow enthusiasm and joy to fill our life. Those around us need to see how we have been spiritually blessed. When the Christian lives with assurance, his entire outlook on life and willingness to share the gospel with others radically changes for the better. Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the LORD, that he may have compassion on him, and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon, Isaiah 55.7.
